Privacy policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
WorryOrNot ("we", "us") sends plain-English cyber-security alerts and breach-monitoring summaries to households. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. The short version: we collect only what we need to send you alerts, we never sell it, and we never ask for passwords.
What we collect
- Your name and email address, to send alerts and summaries.
- Your mobile number (optional), only if you give it and agree to receive texts.
- Household size, so we know how many people the plan covers.
- Invite code (optional), to apply any free period it includes.
- Household email addresses you ask us to monitor (when that feature is available), to check them against known, publicly reported data breaches.
- Messages you send through our contact form: your email address (so we can reply), your name if you give it, and your message.
- A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to prevent spam and abuse. We don't store your raw IP address in our database.
What we don't collect
We never ask for or store passwords, one-time codes, or Social Security numbers. This site uses no advertising or analytics trackers and loads no third-party fonts or scripts.
How we use it
Only to run WorryOrNot: sending alerts, monthly summaries, service messages (for example, before paid plans begin), and preventing abuse.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with service providers we need to run the service (for example, our web host, email or text-message provider, and later our payment processor), and only as needed for them to do that work, or when the law requires it.
Payments (later)
If you choose the paid family plan later, payments will be handled by a payment processor. We won't store your full card number.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your details while you're subscribed. To see, correct, or delete your information, use our contact form and choose "Remove my data" (or "General question" for anything else). Unsubscribe any time with the link in any email or by replying STOP to a text.
Children
The account holder must be an adult. A parent or guardian may add teen household members' email addresses for monitoring.
Security
We use HTTPS for all traffic, keep the database private, and limit access to the people who run the service.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll email subscribers before the change takes effect.
